YMCA World Urban Network goals are:

• To help strengthen the purpose and mission of the YMCA
  
  
• To expand urban Chief Executive Officers/General Secretaries capabilities to deal with the consequences of urbanization.
  
  
• To increase the Chief Executive Officers/General Secretaries ability to develop resources for YMCA program development within the YMCA.
  
  
• To promote mutual assistance, international awareness and understanding among Chief Executive Officers/ General Secretaries of urban associations. 
  
  
• To advocate within the YMCA and other urban institutions the urban development issues affecting our cities.
  
  
• To provide training and development opportunities for Chief Executive Officers/ General Secretaries and their senior staff.
  
  
• To assist members of the Network to collaborate through pairings and partnerships
